Chappie James Flight Academy
On Sept.18th, 2021

Our chapter conducted a 3-hour ground presentation for the Chappie James Flight Academy graduates and their families. Rainy weather did not allow for flying. Duane Thiessen gave a presentation on flying the Harrier, to include an interactive flight gear demonstration. Then new chapter member Tanner Matheny conducted a preflight demo on his Navion in the hangar next door. Then Tanner gave a briefing on the EA-18G Growler, where he recently served a tour as EWO. Ralph Moser finished up with a discussion of flight training scholarships available to 15-19 year-olds, as well as benefits gained from taking a Young Eagle flight. Pizza was served to wrap it up.
