Chris and Terria Mallory's RV-8

Chris and Terria are new members and tenants in our new facility at 82J. These "Baby" pictures are of the fuselage, wings and horizontal stab (below). The fuselage is assembled inverted (just like a real baby) in the jig. Chris has already drilled all the skins. He is reassembling components now in preparation for final riveting.

The completed wings and horizontal stab are awaiting final assembly against workshop wall. Blue plastic protects AL skins during the building process and are removed just prior to painting Chris and Terria are doing an excellent job building their RV-8 and will be flying it very soon!

The fuselage is now out of the jig. Lots of cabin floor work and turtle deck installation to do. This is the fun stage as the airplane takes it's shape. Chris can now start thinking right side up and left IS left and right IS right! The jig is now in the way and needs a new RV-8 homebuilder. Suddenly, the workshop starts to feel more like a telephone booth. Many miles will be walked around the fuselage ends during the next few weeks. This view from the firewall aft.
